I know that the FDA and CDC say eating raw cookie dough can make you sick or even kill you. But I say life is short. Eat raw cookie dough.
If I had a lawyer, they would probably tell me to preface this post with a statement.
I am not a health professional. Follow my advice at your own risk. If you get E. coli or salmonella, don’t blame me.
But me? I’m going to eat raw cookie dough.
In fact, I never stopped eating the raw cookie dough.
When the warning first was announced, my thought was “It hasn’t made me sick yet, so why should I worry?”
Being young and impervious to death, it didn’t occur to me that things like E. coli and salmonella have become increasingly prevalent and more dangerous.
But still. I’m going to eat the raw cookie dough.
Not tons of it. I just like to scape the bowl after making cookies or lick the spoon.
But I’m going to do it.
In a quick Google search I only found one report of someone dying from cookie dough. Tragic, but not a leading cause of death in America.
So, for now, I will continue to enjoy an occasional bite of raw cookie dough.
