For decades, I have teased my husband about his five rules of life. At times they have seemed silly, and frustrating, but in truth, they make a lot of sense.
According to my husband, there are five rules of life everyone should follow.
Follow the rules in order. Don’t even think about the next step until the previous one is completed.
Five Rules of Life
- Finish school.
- Get a job.
- Get married.
- Buy a house.
- Have kids.
When you think about it, the rules do make sense.
It is harder to finish school if you are married, have children, or have to work a job to pay the mortgage.
Not having a job puts stress on a marriage, raising kids, and you can’t buy a home.
If you can commit to buying a house together and having kids together, then why aren’t you married?
You can’t buy a house without a job. (But you can certainly buy one as a successful single person.)
