Motherhood is not a competition. I repeat. Motherhood is NOT a competition. So quit making it into one.
Motherhood is Not a Competition
You will not win an award if your child never uses a pacifier.
There will be no grand announcement in front of a crowd of moms when your kid is potty trained at only a year old.
There is no certificate for your child not sucking their thumb.
You do not win a prize if your child is the first to stop drinking from a bottle.
Or if your child is the first to crawl, walk, talk, or use a spoon.
It will not make the nightly news if your child can read before kindergarten, recite their ABCs at age two or legibly write their name when they are three-years-old.
Your name will not appear in the newspaper if you only feed your child homemade organic baby food.
Motherhood is not competition.
Quit making it into one.
It only hurts your kids and your relationship with other moms.
