Are You a Parent? Then You Should Read the Stanford Victim Letter

Stanford student Brock Turner was convicted of raping an unconscious girl, and Judge Aaron Persky gave him LESS than the minimum sentence because he didn’t want to ruin Brock’s life.

Brock’s dad called the reduced sentence a “steep price to pay for 20 minutes of action.”

Brock has yet to admit that he is guilty of raping the young lady. He has only admitted that he drank to much alcohol.

Brock’s victim was brave enough to write this letter and read it, in the courtroom, directly to her rapist.

LETTER TO STANFORD RAPIST BROCK TURNER AND JUDGE AARON PERSKY

IF YOU HAVE A BOY, you need to read this.

You need to read the Stanford victim letter, bookmark it, print it out, save it.

When they are old enough to be sexually active, you need to make your son read this.

You need to read this with your son and teach him that women, real live women, are not inanimate sex toys.

Use this to teach him that the ONLY sexual consent is the words “I want to have sex with you now” spoken by a girl that 1. Hasn’t drunk any alcohol, and 2. Is his established girlfriend.

Use this to teach him that it is his responsibility to stop anyone, including his best friend, if there is even a hint of sexual misconduct.

Use this to teach him that life is unfair to women, and it is his job to change that.

IF YOU HAVE A GIRL, you need to read this.

You need to read it, bookmark it, print it out, save it.

Put it away, and pray that there is never a reason to share this woman’s strength with your daughter or any young woman you know.

DO NOT give this to your daughter to read. It will terrify her.

Instead, use the knowledge to teach her that life is not fair toward women.

“Men are weak.” “They can’t help themselves.” “Girls who get drunk are asking for it.” “Girls that wear high heels, short skirts, or wear clothes that don’t completely hide their boobs, dress that way because they want sex.”

Teach your daughters that this is wrong, it is bullshit, and it is unfair.

And teach her that despite being unfair, she needs to be careful.

We shouldn’t need to teach girls to protect themselves from boys but do it anyways.

Beg your daughters to never get so drunk that they can’t remember what happened.

Teach her to never drink in public without a sober friend to look after her.

Teach her never to never leave a party alone or with a boy she doesn’t know.

And teach her to never let her girlfriends leave a party alone or with a boy they don’t know.

AND PRAY. Pray every day that despite doing everything “right,” she does not become a rape victim.

The College Rape Culture

During their freshman year, one in six girls will be raped while incapacitated.

The University of Texas 2015, Freshman Class had 4216 women.

That means at least 700 freshman girls may have been raped.

SEVEN HUNDRED.

And that is just one school and one school year.

(BTW- The Stanford Rape Victim wasn’t even a student. She was attending a party with her younger sister.)

Why Every Parent Must Read the Stanford Rape Victim’s Letter

The rape culture on college campuses must stop.

We can be the first step in that process by actively teaching our children appropriate sexual behavior and holding them accountable for their actions.

Our children must learn that you can change the entire course of your life, and someone else’s, with just “twenty minutes of action.”
