I Am a Feminist and You Should Be a Feminist Too

I am a feminist. You should be a feminist too. In fact, everyone should be a feminist. Everyone should believe that women deserve equal status to men.

I am a feminist. You should be a feminist too. In fact, everyone should be a feminist. Because everyone should believe that women deserve equal status to men.

The definition of feminism is simple. It is the belief that women should have equal status with men.

You would think that is something that everyone would want.

Okay. I get why men might not love the idea.

After all, it may mean that a qualified woman will get a job or opportunity that would have otherwise gone to a less-qualified man. A white man.

Yep. Equality sucks when you are part of the ruling class.

But white ladies. What excuse do you have for not being a feminist?

Women are There Own Worst Enemy

Women may never be equal to men because we are too busy fighting among ourselves and bringing each other down.

And the men know that and use it to their advantage.

When a woman does manage to climb the heap of men to reach a position of power, she is often too busy doing her victory dance to reach down and help the other women climb up and join her.

Women seem to think that the only way to enjoy success is by putting another woman down.

Working women look down on stay-at-home moms for wasting their degrees and not being successful in the workforce.

Stay-at-home moms look down on working moms for putting their kids in daycare.

Women of all types turn motherhood into a competition to see whose kid potty trains first or can read before kindergarten.

While we are over here clawing at each other, the men are minding their own business, moving ahead, and leaving us behind.

Feminism is about women having the freedom to choose their path. If you want to be a stay-at-home mom with five kids you can. If you want to be childless and enjoy a time-consuming career, you can. And as a feminist, I will support you in whatever choice you make.

What the Hell Happened During the 2016 Election

White, upwardly-mobile ladies. What the hell happened during the 2016 election?

Why in the world would you vote for a known misogynist?

Do you have no self-respect?

Were you under the delusion that what Trump had to offer extended to you?

That privilege belongs to your husband, not you. Don’t think for a second that it couldn’t be ripped away due to your gender. (Hello! Handmaid’s Tale)

I am ashamed to be part of your cohort.

You Should Be a Feminist

Ladies. You need to look out for your interests because nobody else is going to do it for you.

You should be a feminist and fight for the equal rights of all people. Men and women. Black and white. Gay and straight. Immigrant and native.
